The Cult of Mordalis: Chapter 7

"Well Wait, you've outdone yourself. I didn't think LONAC could get any more boring, that is until now" Scamp spouted.

Waitstate was rather angry but remained calm. "No one is forcing you to stay Scamp."

"I suppose not," Scamp said disappointed.

Waitstate tried to reassure the others. "Look, if this Cult is anything that it's rumored to be, what we are doing right now could be vital."

"Oh, walking about Cybertron looking for a magical Cult is vital? Here I was, silly ole me thinking that wars and looking for energy was vital" Scamp replied sarcastically.

"We're all in this together Scamp, so why don't you just shut up?" Diamond Fire asked.

Scamp turned to Diamond Fire. "For someone who's supposed to be more patient you sure are snippy."

"That's enough. If you can't cool it I can easily get you some release forms" Waitstate said angrily.

"They will not cause you further trouble" Dark Star replied.

Scamp gave an angry stare to Dark Star, but he didn't seem to notice. Even though Waitstate knew that Dark Star formed Dark Force, he didn't know how such a group could stay together. They would eventually have to get used to each other. Such animosity would either make Razer slow, or the group would simply lose the ability to form him. The unhappy group walked on. They weren't quite sure what they were looking for, whether it be another portal or just a slight trace of the Cult itself. All they knew were highly questionable and ridiculous rumors. There were many rumors concerning the Cult. The most prevalent being that Mordalis was amongst the most power beings in the universe, since his power came from the cosmos itself. He was vanquished by an unknown figure, and an ultra powerful crystal that once belonged to Mordalis was lost. No one could confirm the rumors, the simple idea of magic on a planet where technology could do seemingly everything just seem preposterous.

------------

Waitstate was exhausted, as were the other members of the group. "Let's go back an get the others, we're not going to find anything today."

"Finally" Scamp said as he threw his arms into the air.

"Transform and a follow me" Waitstate ordered.

Waitstate transformed into a car, as did Diamond Fire. Ruse transformed into his hover boat mode, while Dark Star and Scamp formed jets. The team flew back to where they began their search, the place that Drill Master and Stardrive found the portal. When they arrived, some they didn't expect was taking place.

"Is this supposed to happen?" Ruse asked.

"I have absolutely no idea," Waitstate said.

As the group looked on, they saw a giant whirling vortex. It was tearing up the surrounding landscape. The area was vacated except for the on looking Cybertronians from the near by city.

"We've gotta find some way to stop it!" Waitstate shouted.

The vortex was not only tearing up the landscape, but it was making a rather loud noise. Diamond Fire transformed and loaded a grenade into her gun. She fired it at the approximate center of the vortex, only to have the wind blow it away.

Over his internal communications system Waitstate received a message. "What's wrong with you guys? Don't you realize the danger here? That thing has torn apart a few of our troops, it's a miracle they're still alive, if you know what's-"

Waitstate cut him off. "I'm not about to hide behind a city wall waiting for backup. I've got friends on the other side of that thing and I intend to get them back."

The voice responded. "Other side of what? What are you talking about?"

Waitstate was just about to cut off the communication just as the energy vortex cut it off for him. "This thing is loaded with energy, if we try and enter it through the side we'll be torn to bits! Everyone, fly up to the top of the vortex and we'll drop down the middle!"

"Yeah, like that's gonna stop us from getting torn apart!" Ruse shouted as he transformed into robot mode.

Ruse held onto Scamp, and Diamond Fire held onto Dark Star. Waitstate transformed into his flight mode and they began flying to the top of the vortex.

"This thing is huge, I can't even see the top!" Ruse shouted.

No one heard Ruse's comment. They made it to the top of the soon afterwards and entered the vortex. It was dark swirling mass of clouds and stray bits of Cybertron, with a violet light at the end of it. As they tumbled out of control, Ruse and Diamond Fire lost their grips and fell down to the center. Waitstate, Dark Star, and Scamp all transformed into their robot modes and began to free fall after them.
