Victims of a powerful viral program, Spire and his partner's datatracks were encrypted, then corrupted to a point that they seemed totally unrecoverable. They were both placed in stasis in the hopes that the two valuable hackers could some day be recovered. A valiant effort by cybertech researchers some years later managed to restore much of the function of both his and his partner's datatracks, but the damage in Spire's spark was already on it's way to being unrecoverable. Spire attempted to rejoin normal Decepticon society, but the mental damage proved to be too much of an obstical. Eventually, a repair datatrack made faulty by the virus caused his superstructure to become terribly warped, transforming his formerly sleek lines into a Cybertronian monstrosity.  |
